Editors Note: I added this story because it's the holiday season. Essentially, the Rowan College of South Jersey bands is my beat. Every time they have an event, I write a story about it in my role as Senior Communications Specialist at RCSJ. These stories are always short and sweet and it's fun to get the word out about where the bands are playing next.

Vineland – The Rowan College South Jersey–Cumberland (RCSJ) Campus Jazz Band and Wind Symphony will present their free annual “Holiday Campus Concert” on Wednesday, Dec. 10. This festive event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Guaracini Center.

Both ensembles will play a variety of instrumental and vocal holiday favorites including: “Christmas Time is Here,” by the Vince Guaraldi Trio; “Feliz Navidad,” by Jose Feliciano and arranged by Paul Murtha; “A Mariah Carey Christmas,” by Mariah Carey and arranged by Joe Murphy, plus more.

The RCSJ–Cumberland campus jazz band and wind symphony, led by founding Director Joseph Akinskas are finishing up their 42nd performance season.

“The opportunity to engage with the RCSJ community and usher in the holiday season is always a delight for the College ensembles,” Akinskas said. “Music is an integral element of the holiday season, and we look forward to sharing our holiday repertoire.”

Participation in the bands is open to students, faculty, and community members. For information, contact Joseph Akinskas at jakinska@rcsj.edu or call 856-200-4548.
